Well - I did it. It took me most of the weekend to figure it all out but I finished my first YouTube Video ever. So thanks for the challenge Ed and Dan! I have to admit that I am so pleased with the outcome. Now I realize that there are things I could do to improve on it and things that I would do different now that it is on YouTube - but I don't care really. Because if nothing else I now know how to create a video for YouTube. And I assure you this is a skill that I will continue to apply to increase my business online. I used the free microsoft movie maker (came with my Dell Inspiron) to create it - and it was so much easier than I expected. Not to mention - I am now going to be creating some more videos for a variety of other reasons. The potential for this blew my mind. But before we go into the video and the lessons I learned - I want to share some of the mindset behind the video I created.
1) I did not want to be in the video (people don't me and I honestly I was not interested in having to fix my hair)
2) I wanted to use an existing niche to tap into some of that existing traffic (people don't know who I am so why click on my video)
3) I wanted to promote this challenge - reach out into a market that would not necessarily be familiar with the challenge - YET be a market that would be open to the idea of the 30 Day Challenge (or 30DC).
In summary - create a video that promoted the challenge and the ideas of the challenge to a market that already existed online but was not the internet marketing market AND that would be open the the idea of the challenge.
My conclusion - HEROES - the awesome TV show. Be sure to watch it! And there are 2 cameos in this video - Ed and Dan.
